Every fall I watch a handful of specific requests take over my books, and this year is no different, there’s always a cluster of looks that everyone suddenly wants at once. This is my running list of what’s actually trending in my chair right now, not last year’s trends, this year’s.
What’s interesting about this year’s fall trends specifically is how much texture and finish matter over pure color, chrome, aura, and glazed finishes are dominating requests even more than which shade someone picks.
Here are the 25 trending fall nails my clients keep bringing me this season.
Chrome and Glazed Donut Finishes
This is the single biggest trend in my chair right now, that glossy, glazed, almost wet-look finish that’s dominated requests since it first went viral, and it translates beautifully into fall’s warmer palette.
Aura Finish Nails
Soft, blended, colored haze finishes are the second biggest request this year, dreamy and completely different from anything sharp or graphic.
Cashmere and Milky Finishes
That soft, sweater-like cashmere texture has become one of the defining fall finishes this year, cozy in a way no other look quite captures.
Checkered and Plaid Patterns
Plaid and checker patterns have genuinely taken over as this year’s signature fall nail art motif, more than leaves, more than anything else.
Mismatched Nail Art
A different design or color on each nail, rather than a matching set, is a genuine trend this year, playful and totally individual.
