Every December I watch a handful of specific requests take over my books, and this year is no different, there’s always a cluster of looks that everyone suddenly wants at once. This is my running list of what’s actually trending in my chair right now, not last year’s trends, this year’s.
What’s interesting about this year’s trends specifically is how much texture and finish matter over pure color, chrome, aura, and glazed finishes are dominating requests even more than which shade someone picks.
Here are the 25 trending Christmas nails my clients keep bringing me this season.
Chrome and Glazed Donut Finishes
This is the single biggest trend in my chair right now, that glossy, glazed, almost wet-look finish that’s dominated requests since it first went viral.
Aura Finish Nails
Soft, blended, colored haze finishes are the second biggest request this year, dreamy and completely different from anything sharp or graphic.
The Bow Detail
The bow has genuinely taken over as this year’s signature Christmas motif, more than trees, more than snowflakes, it’s everywhere right now.
Milky and Sheer Bases
A soft, milky base under any design is dominating this year over full opaque color, it reads modern and lets detail work stand out more.
Mismatched Nail Art
A different design or color on each nail, rather than a matching set, is a genuine trend this year, playful and totally individual.
