12 Frizzy Hair Routine Steps That Actually Change Your Results

Most people fighting frizz aren’t missing the right product, they’re missing the right order and consistency. A real routine matters more than any single miracle serum, and once my clients commit to the full sequence, the difference shows up within a couple of weeks.

Here’s the twelve-step routine I build with clients who are serious about getting their frizz under control for good.

Step One: Sulfate-Free Shampoo

Start every wash with a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo that cleanses without stripping the natural oils that keep frizz in check.

Step Two: Deep Condition Weekly

Follow with a deep conditioning treatment at least once a week to keep moisture levels consistent between washes.

Step Three: Detangle in the Shower

Use a wide-tooth comb on soaking wet hair with conditioner still in to detangle gently before frizz has a chance to set from rough brushing later.

Step Four: Cold Water Rinse

Finish with cool water to seal your cuticle and lock in shine before you even step out of the shower.

Step Five: Apply Product on Soaking Wet Hair

Never wait until hair is partially dry to add leave-in or styling product. Applying to soaking wet hair distributes it evenly and controls frizz from the start.

Step Six: Air Dry or Diffuse, Never Rub

Finish your routine by air drying or diffusing on low heat, and always avoid rough towel rubbing, which is one of the single biggest frizz triggers.
