Can we talk about this for a second? Every client who sits down worried about hair fall has already Googled it and gotten a hundred conflicting answers. So let me simplify it. Some shedding is completely normal, we lose fifty to a hundred strands a day just existing. What you’re looking for is a change from your normal, and these are the twelve things I actually recommend when that happens.
Here’s what’s worked for the clients I’ve walked through this.
Scalp Massage With Warm Oil
A few minutes of circular scalp massage with warm oil, castor or rosemary work beautifully, genuinely increases blood flow to the follicle. I have clients do this two to three times a week.
Gentle Detangling, Every Time
Start from the ends and work up, never rip through wet hair from the root down. Most of the breakage I see in my chair is from detangling technique, not actual hair fall.
Switch to a Silk Pillowcase
Cotton pulls moisture and creates friction all night long, silk lets your hair glide instead of snag. This is the easiest change on this whole list.
Ease Up on Heat and Tension Styles
Tight ponytails and daily heat styling put real, cumulative stress on the follicle. I always recommend rotating in looser styles between the polished ones.
Check Your Iron and Biotin Intake
A lot of shedding I see traces back to what’s happening on the inside, not the outside. I always suggest clients ask their doctor about iron and biotin levels before assuming it’s a product problem.
Rinse With Rosemary Water
A cooled rosemary infusion poured over your scalp after shampooing is genuinely one of the most requested natural treatments I recommend right now, and it costs almost nothing to make.
